About: | From London, Ontario, Canada, KiTTiE was the latest heavy metal group to enter the music scene in 2000. Their song "BRaCKiSH" was one of the most requested song on WBER, and the rest of their CD "Spit" is comparable to the likes of Slipknot, System Of A Down, and Revelle. The band included Morgan Lander, Mercedes Lander, Talena Atfield, and Fallon Bowman. I saw them in concert on July 21, 2000, and they put on an amazing show. Their second CD, "Oracle", was released on November 13, 2001. Their new music did not suffer from the departure of Fallon Bowman in 2001 from the band. Their new song "What I Always Wanted" is in heavy rotation on WBER, and the video of the same song is being played on MTV right now.
Talena Atfield left Kittie around March 21, 2002, and was replaced by Jennifer J. Arroyo, formerly of SPiNE, a Washington D.C. band. In 2004, Kittie added another guitarist, Lisa Marx. Jennifer J. Arroyo was with the band for almost 2 years, and left in late 2005. Lisa Marx also left at around the same time. Two girls then joined Kittie: Tara McLeod on guitar, and Trish Doan on bass. Their third cd "Until The End" was nice and heavy, with very nice bass lines, druming, and Morgan's singing is more death metal than before. Kittie with the new members went into the studio in mid-July, 2006 to record their fourth album, "Funeral For Yesterday". "Funeral For Yesterday" has a more mature sound then their previous release, and at the same time, even heavier. On March 4, 2008, Trish Doan left the band, and was replaced by Ivy Vujic. A new album, "In The Black", was released on September 15, 2009. For more information on Kittie, check out their official webpage, www.kittierocks.com, or their myspace. |
